Neophytes Mass, testimonies

The most wonderful feeling I will remember

I was born into a Hindu home and married a Catholic. I have two boys and they were both baptised Catholic like my husband. Feeling left out, I decided to join their faith. I asked Judith Lee about the procedure to be baptised as a Catholic and she directed me to the RCIA programme where I signed up.

In September 2010, scared and nervous, I began the sessions. I did not know what to expect but with the help of Fr Ferdi, Rev Jeffrey, Mrs Lee (my sponsor), Sr Pat and my family who supported me, I was able to get through and enjoyed this special time of my life.

Baptism – what an experience it was! When Father poured the water on me the feeling was just tremendous.

On entering the Church after changing, everyone stood up and Father said ”Let us welcome the newly baptised”, which brought on an instant applause. My heart was overwhelmingly full of joy and happiness. It was the most wonderful feeling, which I will remember for the rest of my life. – Susan Lall, St Joseph Parish
