Neophytes Mass, testimonies

Now I know how to be happy

Joining the RCIA programme was inevitable for me. It was only a matter of getting the timing right.  Once in, there was no doubt that this was where I needed to be.  During the course, our facilitators asked us a simple question: What do you want out of life?  Easy answer: I just want to be happy. The catch was that no one ever explained to me how to go about achieving this.

Now I know.

A life in Jesus is not easy. It calls on us to be more, to be above average, to be better. It is not a journey one can walk alone. It is only by His grace that we can hope to even begin living the life that He meant for us to live.

Gloria Saturday night was like no other I have ever experienced, or will ever experience again.  As the holy waters of Baptism washed over me, it was as if the weight of all my sins were physically lifted off my shoulders. My whole body and spirit were lifted. At First Communion, my head spun with the power of the Body and Blood filling me up. My heart swelled with the love from my new brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ, our Lord.

My journey through this new life is only just beginning. I fail often…ask my family!  But with Him walking with me, everlasting happiness in Him is mine. – Vashti Persad-John, St Peter’s, Pointe-à-Pierre
