Neophytes Mass, testimonies

I felt my sins washed away

My husband is Catholic and a firm believer in going to church because he was brought up that way. I was also brought up going to church, but when I became a certain age I stopped going to church and started taking part in only the worldly things. When I met   my husband he made sure to be in church every Saturday.  I admired him for that. It showed he had discipline and love for God. We eventually got married in the Catholic Church and started going to church as a family. Although I was going to Church something was missing, I needed a sense of belonging. I was not able to receive Holy   Communion, and on one occasion when I was asked to carry the gifts to the front of the altar I had to decline because I was not Catholic. So I decided to become a Catholic and I joined the RCIA classes. The catechists taught me about the Catholic religion and   prepared me for Baptism, First Communion and Confirmation. At times the journey seemed hard but with God and my tutors everything worked out wonderfully. I was baptised on Gloria Saturday. I felt my sins washed away. Thank you, God. – Joy Nelson
